These records were created by state officials who evaluated the county health services provided to individuals in each county in 1934 and again in the late 1930s and early 1940s. This series consists of in-depth reports completed by field advisors for the State Board of Health on the activities, procedures, methodologies, and educational duties performed or followed by staff members of the county boards of health. Each board was evaluated on procedures used to control mosquitoes, sanitation standards practiced, food and milk supply controls utilized, files maintained on tuberculosis patients, birth and death records kept, school programs presented, tuberculosis and midwife controls, and types of prenatal and infant programs offered.
