Archives of Michigan
Box 4, folder 6 of RG 62-16, series 79 consists of lists of tax homestead lands withdrawn from sale and set aside for state forests and parks, and recreational areas, for the years 1930-1944. The area set aside under provisions of Michigan Public Act 155 of 1927. Section 131 of this legislative gave the director of the Department of Conservation the authority to withhold homestead property for the purpose of state forests, state parks, game refuges, public hunting and recreational grounds. Areas documented: counties in Upper Northern Peninsula and Upper Peninsula. The lists are signed by the Department of Conservation directors, George R. Hogarth (1930-March 1934), acting director Roy E. Cotton (April-September 1934), and P.J. Hoffmaster (November 1934-1944)

State Archives of Florida
This series contains homestead occupying claimant files maintained by the State Land Office from 1881 to 1904. The records consist of tax receipts showing that the claimants have paid their land taxes. Information includes the name of the claimant, a description of the land, the county in which the land is, and the date and amount of tax paid. In accordance with the Florida homestead laws of 1881, homesteaders submitted proof of payment of taxes to the State Land Office as part of the process of obtaining title to the lands they occupied (1881, Ch. 3220, Laws)

This series contains microfilm copies of the applications for permits to settle under the conditions of the Florida Armed Occupation Act of 1842 from 1842 to 1843. The permits were filed at the Saint Augustine and Newnansville Federal District Land Office. It should be noted that the applications include when the applicant became a resident of Florida. Also included in the series are notices, refusals and acceptances, and correspondence pertaining to the claims and permits issued

These three volumes are each divided into different sections for the recording of fees collected for all types of land grants. The individual sections, as many as eighteen in one volume, record monies received for fees paid in all six lotteries and the headright area. In addition, recorded are fees paid for testimonials and copies of grants sold to individuals
