The Foster papers contain William E. Foster’s personal papers during his tenure as librarian at the Providence Public Library. Included are the manuscripts for the many speeches and addresses given to various clubs and organizations on historical and literary matters, subjects Foster was especially interested in. There are also handwritten and typed manuscripts for books and articles written by Foster and some of his writings published in booklet form.

Papers of Lewis A. McArthur (1883-1951) and his family, particularly papers relating to research on Oregon place names. McArthur was a historian who published Oregon Geographic Names in 1928. He published a second edition of the work in 1944, and had completed most of the work for the third edition before his death.

Papers of electronics history author Jane Morgan. Collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, interview notes, reference files, photographs, news clippings and other printed material relating to the development and production of Morgan's book, (Palo Alto, CA: National Press Books, 1967).

The John Bryant economics papers provide a sneak peek into the inner workings of the economics classroom at Rice University. Ranging from introductory classes to high-level graduate theory, Bryant's class notes cover a number of topics.

The Steven Fenberg Papers are comprised of books, correspondence, documents, and newsprint relevant to the life of Steven Fenberg--America's top scholar of influential Houston mogul Jesse H. Jones. Though many of the materials concern Jones, the rest explore Fenberg's other philanthropic interests and connections with the wider Houston community, such as his patronage of AIDS Foundation Houston and affiliation with Congregation Emanu El. Additionally family records such as World War II correspondence and family trees have been added through an addendum donated in 2021 and 2023.

Three boxes containing newspaper articles, Congregation Beth Yeshurun journals, Texas Jewish Historical Society Membership Directories, Robert M. Beren Academy anniversary journals, Holocaust Museum Houston journals, brochures, and memorabilia document some activities that Dr. Debra Bootin was involved in from 1995 to 2017.

The Thomas R. Cole, PhD papers consists of scholarly projects and history of the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics in the University of Texas' McGovern Medical School. The papers include articles, journals, monographs, correspondence, notes, transcripts, books, syllabi, DVDs/CDs, Betacam tapes, cassettes, realia, and research primarily chronicling Dr. Cole's professional career.The collection contains materials documenting Dr. Cole's research in gerontology. Dr. Cole's articles and drafts of these articles are found within the papers and include reviews of his publications. Some of the books Dr. Cole published are also in the collection. This collection reflects the interest Herman E. Detering, III, owner of the Detering Book Gallery, had in photography and psychiatry in the 19th century. A primary focus is on the treatment and study of people experiencing various forms of mental illness. Publications from numerous hospitals, asylums, and other organizations are included. The coverage includes the United States, France, England and other places in Europe.The original materials Detering gathered include 19th century carte de visites, a collection of glass plate negatives from the 1920s, and postcards and other images related to hospitals and asylums. Accompanying the photographs are some realia, such as a magic lantern and a camera and stand, all of which are probably from the late 19th century.
